As the lottery system is also being made digital in support of digital India programme, the Devasthan Vibhag of Rajasthan has released the Rajasthan Varisth Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana 2018 Lottery List. Under the scheme, the Rajasthan government provides a free trip to 22 holy places across India by trains and airplane to around 20,000 senior citizens every year.

Thus, the people interested in having a pilgrimage trip but not having enough money can apply for the scheme. Objective

The primary objective behind this Rajasthan Varisth Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana 2018 is to provide at least one trip to pilgrimage places outside the state to each senior citizen of the state. This scheme was launched in the year 2013 and is still continuing in a new form with new phases in 2018. The authority responsible to organize this yatra is Devasthan Vibhag which also bears the boarding/lodging and food facility of the pilgrims.

The main advantage of the scheme is that the beneficiaries do not have to pay any amount from their own pocket under the whole tour.

Deendayal Upadhyaya Varishtha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana

Under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Varishtha Nagrik Tirth Yatra Yojana, the government will provide religious trips to all the senior citizens who are above 60 years of age. These trips are organized through two modes of transportation, i.e., Train (Rail) or Aeroplane. The government will provide Rs. 3,000 per person for traveling by train and Rs. 7500 per person for traveling by airplane.

This year, the Rajasthan state government is organizing trips to Jagannath Puri, Rameshwaram, Dwarka Puri, Tirupati and Vaishno Devi through trains. There are 17 other holy places across the country which are organized through air travel.
