Midday Meal Scheme – Introduction
Mid Day Meals are a program for children connected with government schools and institutions. This scheme runs both government and state government, which was implemented on August 15, 1995 throughout the country. After this, in September 2004, in order to make extensive changes in the program, cooked hot food was introduced in the menu based schools. Currently, this program is being operated in all the state government, subsidized Local Body Departments, Education Guarantee Scheme, A.I.E, NCLP, Madrasa, etc., to the upper primary level.
One of the main objectives behind introducing this program is to promote public education of primary education, enrollment and attendance of students in schools, increase drop-out, and promote learning levels are key. The Mid Day Meal Program is a multi-purpose program and a program related to the nurturing and development of future generations of the nation.
Objective of Midday Meal Yojana (Benefit)
This program is the world’s largest program, available for over 120,000,000 children in more than 1,265,000 schools and education guarantee scheme centers. Through this scheme, every child of primary school/government institutions was required to serve mid-day meals with minimum 300 calories of protein and energy of 8-12 grams per day for a minimum of 200 days.

Midday Meal Yojana
It is a school meal program, it provides free lunch for primary education and working days for the upper primary classes of the government schools, which is supported under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and National Child Labor Project Schools. This program is a Convention on the Rights of the Child Under Article 24, Para-2C is committed to provide “adequate nutritious food” for the children. Since its introduction in 1995, there have been many changes in the program. Mid day meal scheme is covered by the National Food Security Act, 2013.

Midday Meal In Hindi मिड डे मील कार्यक्रम
मिड डे मील सरकारी स्कूलों और संस्थानों से जुड़े बच्चों के लिए एक मुफ्त में चलाया जाने वाला कार्यक्रम है। यह योजना सरकारी और राज्य सरकार दोनों द्वारा चलाई जा रही हैं, जो पूरे देश में 15 अगस्त 199 5 को लागू की गई थी। इसके बाद, सितंबर 2004 में, कार्यक्रम में व्यापक परिवर्तन करने के लिए, मेनू आधारित स्कूलों में पकाया हुआ गर्म भोजन पेश किया गया था। वर्तमान में, यह कार्यक्रम सभी राज्य सरकारों, सब्सिडी स्थानीय बॉडी विभागों, शिक्षा गारंटी योजना, एआईए, एनसीएलपी, मदरसा आदि में ऊपरी प्राथमिक स्तर तक संचालित किया जा रहा है।
मिड-डे मील प्रोग्राम के प्राथमिक उद्देश्य यह हैं की कक्षा 1 से लेकर 8 कक्षा तक के बच्चो की की भूख से बचने, स्कूल नामांकन और उपस्थिति को बेहतर बनाने, और कुपोषण के मुद्दे को संबोधित करने के लिए, इस योजना के लाभों को इन उद्देश्यों से परे जाना चाहिए। इस योजना के जरिये प्राथमिक स्कूल/ सरकारी सस्थानो के प्रत्येक बच्चे को न्यूनतम 200 दिनों के लिए 8-12 ग्राम प्रतिदिन प्रोटीन और ऊर्जा के न्यूनतम 300 कैलोरी अंश के साथ मध्याह्न भोजन परोसा जाना था।
